I started digiscoping back in 2002 with a Nikon setup. In 2014, I tried phonescoping with Nokia Lumia 920 through the spotting scope. Early 2018, I purchased the ultra portable Kowa TSN-501 spotting scope and been using it with the iPhone SE. Not easy if you are handholding it, I would suggest getting a dedicated adapter if you wish to try out phonescoping.

My other photography setup comprises of a Nikon 1 V1 body attached to a Nikkor CX 70-300mm VR and a Sigma 500mm f4.5 HSM EX DG. Attaching a Nikon 1 body on the telephoto lens requires the FT1 mount. From a 500mm, technically you will get 1350mm. Sounds ideal, but you will need a steady tripod and lots of patience. Check out my photo gallery at http://sigma500mmf45.blogspot.com

Since September 2019, I have switched to micro four thirds system and bought a Panansonic Lumix G7 with a Panasonic Lumix 100-300mm mark II lens. Its very suitable for me because I am always on-the-go. The following year, I have either donated or sold off all my DSLR gears, big tripod, and Nikon Fieldscope.

Fast forward to 2021, I have a Panasonic Lumix G9 to replace the G7. Early 2023, I purchased a Kowa TSN-773 to prepare for my future birdwatching trips.
